Crockett Jr. High will provide a Thanksgiving lunch for all Crockett Jr. High students on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Due to limited seating in the cafeteria we will not be able to host visitors at this time.
In the past two weeks, our Junior High Careers class had the privilege of welcoming two remarkable guest speakers. Mrs. Jenny Diaz, a retired military member, provided invaluable insights on how to enlist in the military, the different roles available, and her personal experiences during her service.
Moreover, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the vital work performed by EMTs. This was an exceptional opportunity for our students to learn and explore. A heartfelt thank you goes out to both speakers.
Crockett Junior High staff, students, and family members are invited to participate in the school’s "Attitude of Gratitude" campaign during the month of November. We encourage you to take a moment to recognize someone in your child's school who makes a difference every day. This could be a teacher, colleague, bus driver, administrator, food services worker, safety officer, teaching assistant, coach, or anyone within our school community.
Please use the QR Code to submit your CJH GIVE THANKS form. We will share your stories on the district's website and social media platforms. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, November 19th, and the sooner you submit, the better, so we have time to post before the holiday break.
This will be a surprise for the individuals recognized! We will send them an email right before the stories go public.

Today Crockett Jr. High started College Shirt Tuesday, we will wear college T-shirts every Tuesday as part of our college and career readiness program. This initiative allows each class to explore the history and significant facts about the college represented on our shirts. We encourage everyone to participate, as it is a fantastic opportunity to discuss educational pathways and options available for both high school and college. It's an amazing opportunity to share our thoughts as we inspire our students to consider future objectives.

Come join us for our Latino Literacy Project next Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 4:30PM at Crockett Administration Building (1400 W. Austin St.). The project is an interactive family reading program that helps establish a family reading routine and build early reading comprehension and vocabulary. Crockett ISD hosted its Ring of Honor Ceremony on Friday, October 25, 2024. Congratulations to our distinguished inductees: Leroy Brown, Dr. Thelma J. Douglass, Reginald Lockhart, and Robert Mayes.
This week in Coach Hanks' Careers class, junior high students had the opportunity to learn from Marco Hayes, a professional hairstylist with over 30 years of experience. They explored the various aspects of cosmetology and gained valuable insights. Overall, the students had a fantastic time!

The Junior High Volleyball team had the opportunity to watch the Varsity Volleyball team compete at home against Anderson-Shiro yesterday, all in celebration of Pink Out Day. The girls had a fantastic time! The final volleyball match for Junior High is scheduled for Monday, 10/28, against Trinity Junior High. We encourage everyone to come out and support these young athletes!
